Clinical Examples for Practicing Telehealth
Examples of Physical and Occupational Therapists Using Telehealth to Serve People with Disabilities Requiring Complex Rehab Technology describes real-life clinical encounters using telehealth by Physical Therapists (PT) and Occupational Therapists (OT) during the provision of complex rehabilitation technology (CRT) with people with disabilities. The examples were chosen to demonstrate the current breadth of telehealth being used in clinical practice and underscore the need for PTs and OTs to be permanently recognized by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) as authorized telehealth practitioners once the COVID-19 pandemic Public Health Emergency expires. These examples are provided by the Clinician Task Force (CTF) and the National CRT Remote Services Consortium.
